Here are the pictures I took yesterday on my walk to and back from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . The original building dated from 1927, and then the entire site was renewed in 2015 with the addition of the new LEED Gold Standard wing.

Valley Drive is quite slanted compared to the neat east-west alignment of adjacent streets, hence the lots with rounded corners resulting in these “triangle” curbside grass patches

Cool thing about that area, tons of tax dollars to go around, via huge property values driven by money laundering and no-questions-asked residency purchasing.  You won’t get any of the houses visible in these pics for under low to mid 7 figures.

Actually, a lot of these constructions are due to the Seismic Mitigation Program , since it is not a matter of IF the next earthquake will come to Vancouver, but WHEN.

And, apparently due to the ways our school buildings were constructed from the 20s all the way through the 50s, they could not be easily refurbished... and so most had to be drastically altered by having entire wings torn down and then modern construction grafted onto the facade or attached to the old buildings.

Whether or not that is necessary, I am not an expert. Does make for interesting buildings, though!

so fancy facades AND earthquake construction. that sounds like the kids that are going there will still be paying off that tax debt.  Theya re pretty though
